Montech is an Independent Service Organization that provides both Depot Repair and on-site repair for a variety of hardware products and components such as:

  •  Tape Drives

Montech is headquartered in Lowell, MA, a major technology and manufacturing center Northwest of Boston MA. 

Montech operates a 26,000 sq. ft. repair depot and warehouse in Lowell, MA and works with numerous partners in other parts of the United States for on-site repairs, warehousing and shipping. 

Montech, Inc. is a privately-owned company that was also known as Monitor Technologies, Inc.  It was founded in 1990 by James Tavares and remains under his leadership as President and CEO. 

Mr. Tavares is a technician and engineer who previously worked for Wang Computer Company in product management.  In his last position at Wang, Mr. Tavares was responsible for setting-up engineering and manufacturing facilities in Mexico and Asia.
